For Marianne Fonseca, Gente Beauty is a celebration of the Brazilian approach to beauty—
where caring for the body is just as important as caring for the face.
Born and raised in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, Brazil, Marianne began modeling at just 15 years
old. Her career quickly became international, taking her from Brazil to Asia and Europe, and
eventually to New York City, where she spent nearly seven years modeling after signing an
American contract with Elite Models.
Her years in fashion gave her an inside look at the global beauty industry, but the inspiration for
Gente Beauty came from something much more personal: the Brazilian beauty rituals she grew
up with. Marianne was introduced to lymphatic drainage by her mother at age 13, and it later
became part of her routine before photoshoots and runway shows.
In 2022, she founded Gente Beauty, bringing those traditions to modern body care. The brand
combines Brazilian ingredients sourced from the Amazon with biotechnology, creating
products inspired by practices that have been part of Brazilian beauty culture for generations.
Today, as Founder and CEO, Marianne is closely involved in everything from product
development and creative direction to partnerships and strategy. Her vision for Gente is
ultimately an extension of where she comes from: sharing a more joyful, confident and
distinctly Brazilian relationship with the body with the rest of the world.
