Shades By Shan is a San Francisco-based cosmetics company. Founded in June 2018, our inspiration comes from Shan & Erika's personal experience growing up with a single mother. Witnessing the incredible sacrifices single parents make, we've dedicated ourselves to supporting these unsung heroes. That's why a portion of every purchase goes directly to supporting single parents in need through our own 501c3 nonprofit, The MamaBerries Foundation.

MEET THE FOUNDER

SHAN BERRIES AND ERIKA CLARK

For sisters Shan Berries and Erika Clark, beauty is a family story rooted in culture, connection and giving back. Inspired by their Ecuadorian heritage and the strong women who raised them, they built Shades By Shan to bring inclusive, high-performance makeup to a wider community.

Before entering beauty, Shan spent more than a decade in television and radio, becoming a familiar Bay Area voice. Her connection with her audience helped shape a vision for products that would make more people feel seen and represented. As Founder & CEO, she leads that vision alongside Erika, Co-Founder & COO, who oversees the business’s operations.

Giving back is central to their purpose. Through the MamaBerries Nonprofit Foundation, they support single parents and families facing financial hardship, helping more than 200 families to date.

Together, the sisters have grown Shades By Shan into a nationally recognized brand while keeping its mission personal: creating beautiful products, celebrating representation and supporting the communities that helped them grow.
